We were recently commissioned by our client to construct a back up Generator Room beneath the executive suites. The work was co-ordinated by a 3rd Party Project Manager and plans drawn up by Engineers. The construction of specific walls were out of lightweight aerated concrete which has insulation and soundproofing properties. Our staff required training to install the lightweight brickwork and once completed deemed as very successful. We also had to cast a heavy duty plinth to house the Generator which weighed in excess of 2 tons. Therefore a special modified mortar from Sika was cast in order to ensure a highly stable platform with a minimum Mpa in excess of 35 required by the engineers.
